Italy is a country of contradictions and intrigue.  Despite the advent of machinery and technology, hanging the freshly-washed laundry out to dry is a long-standing tradition and still widely practiced.  Hand-made noodles, heartbreakingly fragrant bread baked each morning, farm to table freshness and air-dried laundry.  Bellissimo.
