Rising dramatically above the almost-vertical volcanic cliff faces you’ll find the ancient city of Orvieto, located in the Umbria region of Italy.  Completely surrounded with an ancient defensive wall, the fortress was built by the Crusades to protect its citizens from marauding invaders.

During my visit to the city, we enjoyed a delicious meal at this quaint restaurant and peeking over my husband’s shoulder, I capture a snapshot of this intimate table for two set up to welcome a loving couple or close friends eager to share their secrets.
